Learning Goals

The goal of the project was to create something from someone else’s version of 2040. In an interview, my subject shared a high focus on bonds and family and a world replacing the natural with re-used artificial. To address the importance of relationships, the good and the bad parts of the world, and the rarity of natural materials, I created a wedding anniversary gift for them and their partner.

Learning Outcomes

Using reclaimed plastic, laser-cut acrylic and wood, and dried flowers, I was able to simulate what an anniversary present might look like in my subject’s future. Their reaction to the gift was delight in the appearance and adherence to the context of their imagined world.
